ISABELLA T
Isabella came into this world fighting. Born at just 26 weeks and weighing only 650 grams—barely more than a pound—she spent her first 100 days in the NICU surrounded by wires, machines, and love.
During those fragile early days, Isabella was diagnosed with multiple complex conditions: a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), atrial septal defect (ASD), hypertension, premature lung disease, and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Each one was another mountain to climb for a baby so tiny.
When she finally came home, our journey was far from over. We saw her cardiologist every two weeks to watch for changes, hoping and praying for good news. But Isabella began losing weight. She caught one respiratory infection after another and needed oxygen more often. Her heart’s ventricles were enlarging. We knew something had to be done.
Her cardiologist made the call to send us to Children’s Hospital, where specialists could close the hole in her heart.
That surgery changed everything.
Since then, Isabella has made incredible strides. She’s growing stronger, smiling brighter, and teaching us every single day what it means to be brave. Her fight is far from over—but she’s writing a story of strength, resilience, and hope that continues to inspire everyone who meets her.
